Ni-hao, ladies and menfolk! Just wanted to make sure you're all aware that CSTS Pittsburgh 2013 is in the works.
This year we'll be screening Serenity on Saturday, June 22 at Off The Wall Theater in Carnegie, PA. It's a brand new facility that just opened last fall and seats about a hundred folk. It's easy to get to from all corners of town because it's right off the highway, and there's more than enough parking once you get there. The doors will open at 5PM for general mischief, and we'll be screening Serenity at 8PM. There will be plenty of games, raffles and other activities prior to the screening, so you'll want to get there early so you don't miss any of the fun. After the movie we still aim to misbehave 'til around 11PM, so don't just head for the door when the credits start rollin'!
Due to some issues with the licensing folk, there's been a change to the ticket policy for this year's event. Tickets will now be available at the door only, and will be in exchange for a goodwill donation to Equality Now. We're recommending a donation of $5-$10 per person, but we're leavin' it up to individual browncoats to decide what they think it's worth to them to have the CSTS experience in the 'Burgh. Because we're talkin' about browncoats here, we know folk will be as generous as they can.
We're busy conjurin' all manner of ideas for this year's event, and there will be more news and specific information about CSTS Pittsburgh 2013 in the weeks and months to come, so be sure to keep an eye on our site, . Thanks for the warm welcome back and for wishing us well. Yes, this is Pittsburgh's eighth year. We've been on board since the beginning, and we're sure as hell not layin' down arms now! We'll never be the biggest CSTS event, but we will keep flyin'!

Pittsburgh's June 22 "Serenity" screening was all manner of fun, but we didn't bring in as much coin for Equality Now as we would have liked. Ever since then we've been scheming as to how we can do more.

Well, we've made the plan, and now we're gonna follow through! CSTS Pittsburgh is proud to announce "Hammer vs. Horrible," a unique CSTS event for the benefit of Equality Now on Sunday, September 29 from 11AM-1PM during the Pittsburgh Comicon at the Monroeville Convention Center!

Yes, you read that right, CSTS Pittsburgh will hold a Dr. Horrible event at the Pittsburgh Comicon! Our "Hammer vs. Horrible" event will consist of three parts:

1. A CSTS Pittsburgh table on the convention floor for the duration of the con (Friday, September 27 through Sunday, September 29), at which convention attendees can purchase CSTS 2013 t-shirts, play games and buy raffle tickets to win really shiny... er... wicked prizes!

2. An interactive CSTS panel called "Hammer vs. Horrible," which is tentatively scheduled for 11AM on Sunday, September 29. Participants will have a chance to play games in teams in front of a live audience to win prizes and the approval of Bad Horse himself. Hosted by the lovely Penny, with celebrity guest judges Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer!

3. A special CSTS screening of "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," tentatively scheduled for 12PM on Sunday, September 29 (immediately following the games panel) at the con.

Since this event is part of the Pittsburgh Comicon, there will be no charge for admission, but we are asking folk to be as generous as possible in supporting the CSTS table and donating to Equality Now at the Dr. Horrible events.

More information, including descriptions of the games and prizes, will be available in the coming weeks on our website (http://www.cstspgh.webs.com). In the meantime, we'll be practicing our evil laugh!
