The Can't Stop the Serenity team in Leicester are very, very pleased to announce we will be having an event once again (after a break of 6 years!) and would love to see some local and national Browncoats.

We will be screening "Serenity" to support both Equality Now, and local charity WALL - Women's Aid Leicester.
There will be an after-party shindig; acoustic performers; spoken word and poetry. Bar and food available. Cosplay/costume competition. Raffle and related merchandise sales.
Event will be ticket entry only. Price TBC. We have a venue capacity of 100 for the screening, but the bar downstairs will be open if you wanted to attend only the after-party.
(Please note: "Serenity" is a 15 cert. Under 15's/over 12's will be admitted with a parent/guardian.)

Location: Upstairs in the Firebug, Millstone Lane, Leicester, LE1 5JN
Time: From 1:30pm for a 2pm showing. Finishes officially at around 6pm with people welcome to stay on in the bar downstairs.

Our Facebook group can be found at https://www.facebook.com/groups/CSTSLeicester/
and the event info is here https://www.facebook.com/events/1397468337188296/
Also, you can email us at cstsleicester@gmail.com with any questions or queries.
We are working on a website at the moment, and a donation page for those who are unable to attend but would like to donate to the cause. Further details as soon as we have them! :)

Thank you. :) Having small children seems to make doing events rather difficult! ;)

We are really pleased to have the go-ahead this year. If it goes well we will try and keep them going as well. Lots of interest so far, and our venue provider has been absolutely amazing.

Having small children makes doing much of anything more difficult :P

Just letting y'all know that our event went really well indeed.

We sold 55 tickets in total - 38 in advance, and 17 "walk ups" on the day. Not everyone stayed for the full event, but they were all happy to come for the screening and free popcorn ;)

The first 20 people to arrive and present their virtual ticket (bought in advance online) got a goodie bag with a special ticket, badge, lollipop and plastic dinosaur inside.

We showed the movie; had poetry, spoken word and a comedy sketch; live local music; a raffle and quiz; costume competition and various stalls with things to buy. We made over £200 on raffle tickets alone!

Our total raised is: £715.00, which works out over 1000 USD.

This will be divided up between Equality Now - 75%, £536.25
and Women's Aid Leicestershire Ltd - 25%, £178.75

We all had a great time and we've had brilliant feedback so far.

I am now available to help any other UK events as needed.
