As people did not come in right away we started a bit late, but thanks to the wonderful improve style of Stewart staying in character as Wash and Jayne, he ushered the event smoothly through the day. We also had a problem at the printers so the auction started later as well.

We started off with 3 videos this year the 2014 CSTS official intro, Joss Wedon’s “Make Equality Real” speech, and Mosquito. After a quick break we had a small Costume contest then watched Browncoat: Redemption.

We then took a small break and had Pita’s donated to feed the masses, as well as a chance for people to bid. We then had a Evil Laugh contest before an amazing Sing along to Dr Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. I was amazed how great it sounded.

A quick chance for final bids, thanks to the sponsors and then the main Event! As they Reavers rushed on screen we cleaned up behind the scenes so we could leave as soon as possible.

The film ended, we rushed everyone out collected payments for items and took a very deep sleep.

Why we think attendance was low
a) Do not have the event the same weekend as the Edmonton Expo. We could have had
a lot of geeks fill our ranks
b) Do not have an event on Sunday, Saturdays better
c) Promote the fact that we would have a POS machine. Maybe people who came this
year again were worried they would not have enough cash.

We are going to go over what we did to see how we can improve next year.

We raised at least $500.00 and are waiting on a few promised donations and what is owed to the theatre.

It sounds well planned and as though the people who were there had a good time. And how nice to have some food donated!
