Miami Springs Serenity Screening August 23rd

We are moving locations again, to a local pub and eatery known as The Hurricane Bar and Grill. They have a full liquor bar and full menu for guests. We are keeping it simpler this year, just having a happy hour for browncoats to enjoy each other's company, and a screening of Dr. Horrible and of course Serenity. We are not charging admission, but guests are free to donate any amount they wish to our cause.

We will be having a raffle, prizes for those who donate, and a local fan group will be hosting a Firefly themed Wheel of Fortune Game.

Time: 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm

If the Alliance shows up, they are going to be in trouble!!

We are starting to collect our raffle prizes, and will be posting them in the coming days. We have a hand knit Jayne hat to start with, and we have some local artists and crafters at work to make some more Firefly themed prizes.

We also have a local group of fans who are going to be hosting a Firefly themed Wheel of Fortune game, so I think we will be having a lot of fun in Miami Springs!

Do you have a time yet when all this shininess starts?

Yes, I updated the Facebook event page with the time - Noon to 4:00. It is earlier than I would have liked, but the venue was free, so I went for it. I think the website is updated as well, do I need to update links?

Perhaps add it to the first post in this thread so that all the information is in one place?

Well, we have had some luck with getting some great stuff for attendees. We have small items to give out for free to all attendees whether they can afford to donate or not. We also have some great bags that we made from prior years' t-shirts, that we are going to fill with lots of goodies for donors who donate $25 or more. We are starting to post pictures every day till the event this Saturday.

And thanks to the D.C. group, I was able to get some tshirts and kids Jayne hats to sell at the event - I'm glad I could take some of their leftovers off their hands for our event.
