Hello we have almost all of our details worked out for our event this year.
We have sent SWANK our application and payment, we have our venue set. It will be in a large auditorium of a public library and will be open to the public. ((BC/ South Regional Library-7300 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines, FL 33024)) We will have a sign-in sheet at the door so that we may keep a close count of attendees. We are expecting about 100 people. We plan on raising funds by charity by requesting donations of any amount and by selling raffle tickets for Firefly/Serenity toys/games/collectibles.
We will be showing Serenity & Dr. Horrible and holding our raffle. Our committee is donating refreshments such as punch and pie, so snacks will be offered free to attendees. We are trying something new this year, the event will be held from 11-5pm, this is the first time we have held a day time event.
The only downside is that it will be held on October 4th, which is Yom Kippur so some of our regular attendees can not come, but it was the only day I could get based on our budget of FREE.
The event is getting a lot of buzz on our facebook page, I am pretty encouraged by the response we have been getting.

And I imagine that everyone will have such a good time they will all donate hundreds of dollars!
