We're so excited to be back for a third year!
This year's event will be Sunday, October 2 at the Avalon Cinema on Platteville's Main St.
This year, we're raising money and awareness for Equality Now and Family Connections of Southwest Wisconsin, a trusted resource that helps to prepare, educate, and support families, childcare providers, and the public. A representative of Family Connections will be on hand to give a short presentation and answer questions about the organization. As a personal note, when they say "it takes a village to raise a child", a huge part of my village (as a new mom) was the people I met through Family Connections. This organization holds a special place in my heart, and I'm so happy to have the chance to give back.
We'll be screening Serenity, Dr Horrible, and some other Internet shorts. (a HUGE thank you to State Theaters for donating the venue so we can show Dr. H). The auction items are starting to come in, and we'll have some fun signed and limited edition goodies in the auction again this year. Most of it will be silent auction, but there might be a live auction component, too. (If it's like the last two years, we won't have the schedule finalized until the week of the event.) We'll be posting sneak peeks of auction items on our facebook page in the weeks leading up to the event. http://www.facebook.com/cstsplatt
Tickets and more information are available at http://csts.swwi.org
We also have lots of dine-to-donate opportunities this year:
Benvenuto's - Platteville
ANY Monday in September (Kids eat free on Mondays!)
Sunday, Oct 2 (the day of the event!)
Granite City Food & Brewery - Madison (West Towne)
Friday, Sept 23
Dine out on any (all?) of the above dates, tell your server that you'd like to support Can't Stop the Serenity, and they'll donate a percentage of your bill to our charities!
