Suggestions and Ideas for CSTS Global management

As the "Planning for 2009" thread has grown to cover a wide range of ideas for global and local, I thought it might be good to have a thread specifically for suggestions and discussion around CSTS Global Management for 2009 and onwards.

Haldira has advised that the term for the current Global Organizer ends on 31 August 2008, and from what I've been reading around various forums, it seems that the general consensus is that we all need to get things tightened up a little before the new team is selected.

Personally, I think that input into developing the processes, policies and procedures for Global CSTS management should be accepted from as many people as possible, including past/current Global/Local CSTS event organizers (and teams), experienced non-CSTS event organisers, people who have worked with non-profits/fandom projects etc.

The goal would be to come to some kind of consensus within the next few weeks, and document as much as possible so that the next team knows what they're getting in for, and so that event supporters can be confident that concerns have been addressed.

So if you have an opinion on how things can be improved, please share it here.

And if you have skills that you'd like to share that can help this process along, please let us all know.

i think the registration idea was a good one. it is essential that the people shipping the global swag know exactly to whom and where they are sending the stuff. of course people move and things change but i think a primary list of every one that is involved is the best way to start.

it was very scary the first year i organized, not having a bundle and having to search the forums for all the info i needed. it worked out but i think it will be less scary for first time LO's to have a little structure to work from. if you fill in this registration sheet we will send you everything to start you off on the right foot.

that says : we are organized and we know what is going on. it is a good image to send.
