I googled a few towns nearby and found a gathering of Browncoats in Central Florida (). A search for Jacksonville Browncoat has and among others.

You should probably do some digging, find a bunch of forums and online social networking sites and do some preliminary advertising - kind of "save the date"/"Call for Volunteers" directed at people in your area. Get in touch with local conventions/sci-fi clubs and see if there's any interest/ideas/networks there.
