It's been months really since I've gotten any emails from the CSTS Forum letting me know new topics have been posted, or old topics have been replied to, unless it's a topic where I posted something. However, before this, I would get emails letting me know new topics had been posted, and other topics had received replies even if I'd never posted anything there. I haven't changed my settings (I just checked to make sure I was still subscribed to each of the main forum categories), so I was hoping someone could look into this for me, or let me know what I'm doing wrong? Those emails were what got me through the busy times last year - I often don't have time to log in to the forum to see if there are new posts, but the getting the emails let me see what topics people were having discussions in and I could check the important ones right away and then the emails would serve as reminders for checking the other posts when I had time. Help?!

Thanks for the feedback, Jenn. I'm not sure why the subscribe to topic function isn't working, but I'm passing the information on to our webmistress and will get her to look into it.

Your feedback around being too busy to check in the forums each day is an important, and I know that many organisers have the same experience. We hoped to alleviate this in part via the Organisers Update, where we could pass on important information directly to you via email, and highlight important threads. If you weren't getting these, or if they weren't sufficient for your needs, we'd appreciate your feedback so that we can improve them for next year.

I was getting the Organizer's updates and I found them very helpful - they often served as a reminder to information I'd already read on the Forum, or they alerted me to go read the things I hadn't been able to yet. I said this in another post over in the Auction thread, but I'm a big fan of multiple forms / instances of communication. The more times you tell me, the more likely it is I'll see it, remember it, and do it. Then, if it doesn't get done, the only person I have to blame is myself! However, if you just tell me once, and I don't have time to check the forum or whatever for a few days and it gets buried and I miss it, well then there's a chance I blame you instead, and the onus should always be on me! (IMO)

I see people have complained about getting too many emails, etc., but I would encourage all of them to set up a filter system. Then, all emails get organized coming in and you can focus on the ones you need to without being weighed down by a full "inbox" staring back at you. And if they don't have an email provider with those capabilities, then they should consider getting one! I recommend Gmail!

Could you do me a favor, Jenn? Could you go to your User Control Panel (link at the top of the forums) and go to Manage Subscriptions. Are the boards you've subscribed to there? If they aren't, please try resubscribing to the boards/threads you want to be notified about. I have no idea why the forum would just up and not email you regarding your subscriptions.

Kethra,

It seems I wasn't subscribed to "Planning Central" when I thought I was. I have resubscribed and everything seems to be working fine now - I've gotten email notifications for all the new posts this week. Thanks for the help and sorry for any confusion.

I'm glad that the issue is fixed! Wouldn't want you to miss out on important stuff!
