Boston, MA US - 19 & 20 June 2009 (Reg)

The New England Browncoats are finalizing plans for the '09 screening.

This year we are going to go back to one evening on Saturday, June 20th. We found that we didn't get all that many more people between the 2 showings that we got in the one evening in years past.

Mental Health also is a factor in this decision as well.

Well that was fast.

Our screening has been finalized. It will be at 11:59pm on Saturday, June 20th at the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline, MA. (http://www.coolidge.org)

Tickets will be $10 each and will be on sale in May.

Well it seems we are going to have a couple of excellent changes in our plans for this year's CSTS.

We are going to have 2 nights at the Coolidge as we had last year. We were only going to do one night this year but something big has come up that changes things.

And that change is.........that in addition to the film Serenity, we will be showing Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog!!!

This will be Dr. Horrible's big screen debut in Boston. And we will be showing Dr. Horrible with all the lyrics so you can (duh) sing along and probably the only time you'll be able to see both these great films on the same evening.

So do not miss this extra special weekend on June 19th and 20th at The Coolidge.

Tickets will go onsale in May. S

Hello Browncoats!

GET READY FOR ROUND TWO THIS EVENING- 6/20!!
We had a very successful evening last night! Thank you to everyone who
showed up, and welcome to the newcomers!

I have heard thru the volunteers that there were many repeat viewers - and
quite a few newbies who were either dragged, cajoled, coerced and in a
couple of cases even grave bodily harm was mentioned to get them to our
screening. Truthfully, as an organizer - I don't care how you got there -
I'm just gorram grateful your body was present and that you had fun. :0)

Many thanks to the old timers who helped spread the word, and *cough*
invited *cough* a friend or two.

There are some who will be making Round Two with us and we look forward to
seeing you. We just want to let you know that we have a forecast of 50%
rain - but we also have a 50% forecast of NO rain. Last night was supposed
to be the same, and look how those that make the stars turn round blessed
us. :0)

However, no matter what the weather, we will be there for you..so prepare
yourself for a fun evening, maybe some dampness, a round of Happy Birthday
to Joss, just like we do every year and be prepared to maybe give us your
best Evil Laugh.

When we get inside it's; a special treat for you, then a vocal hour as we
sing-a-long to Dr. Horrible, have the raffle and then see our Big Damn
Heroes once again in Serenity.

*Don't forget to bring non-perishable food items, so you can enter the
raffle.

3rd time nuthin'. 2nd time was a smash hit! We packed the house again which equals shiny, cashy money to help end violence against women and girls around the World. Equality Now and Joss Whedon will be proud! Right now, we are estimating that we collected around 1,000 lbs of food for the Food Bank. There will be an update as we get exact totals. The Boston CSTS Crew wants to thank our sponsors and everyone who supported our event. You are our Big Damn Heroes!
