I wouldn't mind organizing or helping to organize the 2009 Des Moines event.
I emailed Phiremangston/Jackie and Yuko/Corissa (last year's organizers) to see if they were going to do it this year and have yet to hear back. I would gladly defer to them if they are still interested, otherwise, Im up for the challenge.

Pending official crossing of t's with the global organizers, and print availability, Des Moines is a "go" for June 20th at the very generous Fleur Cinemas in Des Moines.
A 330 seat auditorium we hope to fill!

I am pleased to announce that the 2009 Des Moines Can't Stop the Serenity event is officially IN THE BLACK already, before the screening!
Thanks to some very generous monetary sponsors, we have been able to pay our screening fees and theater fees so that every ticket, auction item and donation will go 100% to Equality Now from now on.
There really are some shiny folk out there!

What a wonderful piece of news that is! And such a relief too know that you aren't coming out of this in debt! That is always a worry of mine even after 3 profitable years. Congratulations. Well done!

We're still crossing some T's and recording some receipts, but Des Moines will definitely shatter even our first year's totals!
Thanks to everybody who came out to the early screening on Saturday who helped make it a success!

Wow! Nicely done.
Is there a recap of your event posted anywhere? I'd love to read about it.
Now that you have organized your first CSTS event, ready for the next year?

Yep! Ready for next year - we're even trying to get together a Dr. Horribles this Fall!
I'll try and post a recap as soon as I can, sending the donation off tomorrow, been busy! ugh!
