I've got some family in this area that's hoping this is still going to happen as well, so an update would be great.

Sadly the theater while having shown great interest, is taking their time getting back to us on a date. We're working on getting it set asap. I'll make sure to let everyone know when the date is confirmed.

Sorry it's taken me so long to keep everyone updated, I had some health problems. Details aren't finalizad but we should be having a screening of Serenity at Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor on Saturday September 5th. Also we may have a Dr. Horrible screening at the same time.

Can't Stop the Serenity comes back to the Michigan Theater, this time with Dr. Horrible! For the fourth year, screenings of the science fiction film 'Serenity' will be held around the world to raise money and awareness for an international women's rights advocacy group. The unprecedented effort marks the culmination of a year's work by fans to bring a writer's vision of equality to a mass audience. Can't Stop The Serenity [CSTS] was conceived as a tribute to writer-director Joss Whedon on his birthday, June 23, by holding screenings of his 2005 film 'Serenity' wherever supporters were able to organize events. Proceeds from the events are donated to Equality Now, a charitable organization that Whedon's mother, Lee Stearns, helped launch. In 2008, there were events in 45 cities worldwide, raising over $107,000 for Equality Now. Come see Serenity and Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog on the big screen!

I heard from someone online who had a great time at the screening. She did say that she only found out about it 2 days before and many of her friends had made other plans by then, but she was happy she'd gone.
