We have been getting some great support from a few sponsors, but since the donations are not going directly to Equality Now, is there some way for their accounting departments to show these as charitable contributions? [If this has already been answered somewhere, I am sorry, but I haven't found it yet.]

Rogue, are you using these donations to fund your event? Who are they writing the checks to?

Hey,
I talked to Amanda Sullivan and this is what she said:
I don't see a problem...with the organizers giving receipts for the items. Unless the receipt has to be from a 501(c)(3) organization.
So, no problem if sponsors/donors want receipts for goods [from Equality Now], just give me the particulars and I will be happy to send them out.

Dear XXXX:
This is to confirm that the XXXX Browncoats have offered to raise funds for Equality Now at their Can't Stop The Serenity Event. We have been told that the five (5) XXXX that you have offered to donate will be used in their promotional prize giveaway at the event.
As you will see from the attached, Equality Now is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like further information. Thank you.
Kind regards,
Amanda Sullivan

I'm not following...should we send a list of items directly to Amanda, and the receive a letter from her?
Thanks

For sponsors/donors that require a letter from a 501(c)(3) organization, send their contact info, donation info, etc., to Amanda, and she'll create a donation receipt letter for them.
