Last year, cities in Australia & New Zealand worked together under the banner of CSTS ANZ to support each other and pool resources to get the best out of Aussie/NZ based companies/people for sponsorship, publicity etc. As a result, each city got a package of local swag (which included autographed items) donated by Australian businesses in addition to the global swag and shared the benefits of national publicity. Basically, we had a couple of geographically relevant people acting as mentors and regional coordinators.

Are non-US cities interested in something like this for 2009?

It might be helpful for regions such as UK/Europe, Canada and Australia/New Zealand?

In Canada we do all talk anyway and have been mentoring. There has been no sponsorship opportunities so no worries that one city would take everything from a national sponsor. I'm not sure if somehting like this would be useful or not.

It was renewed beth renewed it. and 40,000 hits last year is not what i would consider "not much use" people will go back to it looking for information again this year. but each to their own. I have put Melb as TBA and they can go to the main page if they wish. It was simply a place for preorders to be placed etc. but go ahead.

One of my helpers mentioned the idea of doing a UK order of t-shirts and posters, although it never got developed further - I know we're getting pretty close to the order deadline so it might be a bit late now, but would the other UK cities (Bristol and Warwick, I think?) be interested if we could pull this off? I know I've got some ADM pricelists lying around, and we keep getting offers from t-shirt companies in our society inbox... I don't know where we'd get posters from, though!
