To reiterate Lionness, NO LIVE PERFORMANCES includes: - Shadowcasts of Dr Horrible/Commentary/Extras - Reinactments of Scenes from Dr Horrible/Commentary/Extras - Cosplay performances to songs from Dr Horrible/Commentary/Extras - Karaoke sessions including songs from Dr Horrible/Commentary/Extras - Live musicians performing songs from Dr Horrible/Commentary/Extras - Pre-recordings of musicians performing songs from Dr Horrible/Commentary/Extras - Pre-recordings of individuals performing songs/scenes from Dr Horrible/Commentary/Extras Basically, if your event is planning anything more than a straight forward screening Dr Horrible's Sing-along Blog, then you are not covered by the agreement that CSTS has with Mutant Enemy, and will need to secure your own permissions (which we will check to ensure they have been granted). |

Hi all NON-THEATRICAL RIGHTS FOR UK This is UK specific: there are currently no digital prints of "SERENITY" in the country. If you are unable to obtain a 35mm print for your screening and want to opt to play a DVD; you must approach a company called Filmbank (www.filmbank.co.uk) for permission. Wendy |

I feel it would be beyond ironic if you weren't allowed to sing along with the Sing-Along Blog. |

I would think so - and assuming no karaoke singing means performing the songs by themselves - but just want to make sure. I don't know how I could possibly tell my audience that they can't sing along! |

Thanks, William. We won't throw toast at the screen, either! |

Are we okay to screen Dr Horrible this year? Apologies if I've missed an official announcement. |

Bloody well hope so, as we're screening it! Not been informed otherwise so gone ahead (ensuring to add the screening by with permission from addendum from other years to any promotional stuff - and adhering to the general - no reenacting any scenes or singing along to music thus by stealing other people's work). |

Absolutely YES we can screen Dr Horrible! We got permission way back in January so the notification is buried way back in the forums. This from January 5 under What We Can Show in the Organizer Announcements: We have permission to screen SERENITY. Theater events must have owner contact Paul Ginsburg at Universal, they should have the contact info. Affiliate non theatrical events contact Swank (http://www.swank.com ) in the US. We have permission to screen Dr Horrible, just the movie and no extras! We still can't use any images to promote the picture beyond the title itself but we do not need to say it is by permission of the Time Science Blood Club, LLC as we did last year. No shadow casting or the like allowed. We have permission to screen and will provide to the venues on a dvd Trailer Park Heroes, Nathan's Swamp Ass PSA and Kaley Cuoco's Slave Leia PSA from Break.com. We have permission to screen Nathan Town's spoof Mosquito. We have permission to show Roll a D6 from Broken Record Films. We have permission to show Mikey Mason's My Next Girlfriend music video, we have permission to show Tim Daly's DalyShow ep with Nathan. These will also be on the dvd we send. Total time of these extras is about 40 minutes, feel free to edit the content on a movie program like iMovie and take what you want. Venues have permission to screen any episodes of The Guild, you must provide the dvds, we are not allowed to copy them to send to you. |

Hi there, Wondering where the licensing stands for 2014 for a screening of Dr Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. And would that be a Screening event? Or an affiliate event. Thanks! |

We haven't heard back from the good folks who give us the permission, so we don't know if we can show Dr. Horrible or not, yet. As for whether it would be a screening event or an affiliate, if you show Serenity as well, it is a screening. If you are not showing Serenity, then it is an affiliate. You can see an longer description here: . We hope to announce the 2014 season open for registration soon. |
