What happened with this screening? It was supposed to take place in September. Merchandise orders were taken months ago. No word for a long time now on what is the status of the screening. The website for the city has been taken down. What is going on?

Diana has fallen off the radar, not answering emails or calls, their website is no longer accessible
another person, talestalker from the Browncoat: Redemption crew is looking to step in to throw together a last minute event at a comic shop, we'll update as soon as they finalise their plans
if you bought tickets or paid for merchandise please contact them or ask for refunds thru Paypal (I think that is who they were using)

We regret to advise that we have received no further updates about the status of refunds.
Our last communication from Diana was on 5 January, where in Diana said:
"There was no event this year, sadly. Nothing could be pulled together with my schedule and the theatre we had fell out on us. I am working on getting refunds for those who ordered merchandise. So, no donation, the event was cancelled, and those with merchandise orders will be getting refunds. Sorry!"

Oh no, not again...
Any idea how many people are needing refunds?

This was last year but I believe that 2010 is being formally closed and Jen is stating what the last word was.

The GSC has no information about the extent of refunds required, as we don't know how many people put in orders etc. We only know what we've posted. It's plausable that refunds may have been made, but as we don't know for sure, we didn't want to assume.
I would recommend that if there are folks out there who have not been refunded, that they seek refunds directly with the organiser and maybe post here so we can get a sense about the scope of the problem.

No, I did not receive a refund. Really at this point I'm not too worried about it (although it would be nice if that money could go to one of the charities).
I just hope that we can have an event again in the future, but I'm not sure if people will be so trusting again. It would have been nice to know what was going on. I don't think any of us cared about the money, so much as we wanted to go out and support the Firefly franchise and these charities.
