CSTS Vancouver's 5th Anniversary event is shaping up to be very shiny!

Saturday, June 26th
11 am - 5 pm

H.R. MacMillan Space Centre

Tickets are $15 and will be on sale on our blog at http://serenityscreeningvan.blogspot.com within a couple of days.

There will be a silent auction, door prizes, a costume contest, Whedon trivia bingo and the world premiere of new episodes of "The Masked Roger", on top of the screening of "Serenity" and "Dr. Horrible" (if we get permission).

I envy all the time you have to do all those things! The theatre would cost far to much for us if we booked it for that long.

The Masked Roger started as an application to the ELE by one of our members (AlanD) but has since become a YouTube series. He hasn't finished filming the first season yet - he's aiming for CSTS - but he already has S2 mostly written!!

Yes, we're lucky we only have to pay for the technician (due to the staff discount), so we can afford to do the whole day. When we were renting a theatre elsewhere, we could only afford the four-hour rental, which included set-up and clean-up time, so no silent auction even.

Tickets are also on sale through Happy Bats Cinema (2830 Main Street) and La Fontana Caffe (East Hastings at Boundary, where Friday is Geek Night!) as well as through our blog at http://serenityscreeningvan.blogspot.com. Please note payment at Happy Bats and La Fontana is cash only.

As soon as we hear about Dr. Horrible, we will be putting up our posters, especially at comic book shops in time for Free Comic Book Day, May 1st. Of course, if we haven't heard about Dr. Horrible by the end of this week, we'll do the posters without it.

We are pleased that we are one of the seven cities chosen - through an essay contest - to show a rough copy of the fan film, Browncoats: Redemption. We're looking forward to seein it on a big screen.

Two weeks today we will enjoying a fun-filled, jam-packed day of Whedon-y goodness at CSTS Vancouver 2010. We're halfway to a sellout and have passed the break-even point.

Events include: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog sing-along, Evil Laugh Contest, several episodes of The Masked Roger, Costume Contest, a rough cut of Browncoats:Redemption, Whedon-works Trivia Bingo, grab bags, door prizes, Silent Auction, and of course a showing of Serenity on the big screen.

Get your tickets soon and bring lots of cash-y money, 'cause we don't take any other kind and you definitely do not want to miss out on some of the great items we have for the auction.

Too much to do on my end for our July shindig and ticket sales are down this year. (go-sei)

Anyway, I'm sorry you won't be able to come but I do know how frantic the last three weeks can be! Maybe some of the Seattle Browncoats who aren't involved in organising your CSTS will come on up. We'd love to have them. They just need to make sure they buy their tickets ahead of time.

Are your ticket sales down from this time last year - or down from how many weeks before the event? Ours are actually up from this time last year, which is good for my stress level!

Less than 50 tickets left for Saturday's CSTS Vancouver! We have had even more shiny donations in the past week: Kaylee Maquette, Dr. Who Empress of Racnoss action figure, signed picture of the cast of Sanctuary!

There may be tickets at the door, if we haven't sold out beforehand.
