Edmonton has returned to the CSTS fold!

Sunday, June 27th

Stanley Milner Library Theatre
Churchill Square, Edmonton, AB

Tickets will be on sale on our website at in April and at all three Happy Harbor Comics locations beginning in May.

There will be a silent auction, door prizes, a costume contest, a top secret screening (we could tell you but then they'd kill us for letting the cat out of the bag early) and of course, the screening of Serenity.

Assuming permission is obtained, we will be hosting a small screening of Dr. Horrible at Happy Harbor Comics v1 (12226 Jasper Ave) on Saturday, June 19th. There will be no cost to come join us but donation boxes accepting cashy monies for CSTS will be strategically placed around the room. Begging, and hilariously bad singing, will likely ensue.

Quick update on our screenings so far.

Done the Impossible (pre-event) - collected 25 lbs of food for the Edmonton food bank from tiny crowd

Dr. Horrible (pre-event) - collected 42lbs of food and $104.25 for the Edmonton food bank

As for Can't Stop the Serenity, everyone seemed to have a blast yesterday. It was a small crowd (50-60% capacity) but we were competing with Star Wars in Concert (they announced their Edm date months after we'd booked CSTS). Browncoats: Redemption got lots of laughs and cheers in the appropriate places and we had a few Serenity virgins at our screening - they're always identifiable by the loud gasps and shouts of "no" when Wash dies.

We should have our donation totals to announce soon. The committee is taking a few days off to decompress before we start to count & start the planning again for next year.
