Well, if we have to stagger dates for CSTS next year, some of us may be able to attend other screenings; probably not Vancouver - Chicago, but Vancouver, Seattle and possibly Portland, for instance!

I already posted elsewhere the announcement that Jewel Staite will be our special guest and do a half hour Q & A before the movie! Yay!! This year the BC Browncoats decided to donate 10% of the net proceeds of our screening event to the BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre, a local hospital which provides specialised care for women from all over the province in terms of obstetrics, gynaecology, HIV/AIDS, oncology and much more. This is also a cause that Jewel supports, although we only found out that after we had chosen them as a recipient. Since we have a larger venue, less costs for the theatre, more time, a silent auction and sponsorship this year, we are hoping that we can raise a large amount of money for both Equality Now and BC Women's. |
