We are pleased to announce that the Global Steering Committee has been re-established. This committee is responsible for guiding our events from year to year, and ensuring that our goals stay true.

The Global Steering Committee consists of Anne Barringer (Past Global Organiser, from Memphis, TN USA), Jen Cummings (Asia Pacific Representative, from Melbourne, Australia), Marg Grady (North America Representative, from Phoenix, AZ USA) and Amanda Sullivan (from Equality Now). The position of Europe Representative has not yet been filled.

The Global Steering Committee met last week, and we will be posting a meeting report soon so that you can see what we are doing.

The roles within the GSC have been allocated across the team and are as follows:

Chairperson - Jen Cummings
Vice-Chair - Amanda Sullivan
Secretary - Anne Barringer
Member - Marg Grady

There is 1 position currently vacant.

I dont understand why these positions exist? i thought we voted you into positions already? Does the GSC really need that many meetings? Their role was always supposed to be a minor one, for steering in times when global cannot make the decision on their own based on input from the organisers.

it kinda makes it sound like instead of being the rep for ANZ as voted in, you are now in charge of the GSC, which is not the way -I- envisaged the GSC to be. Maybe other see it differently.
