You! want to work/volunteer/help CSTS 2010 Global Team
you really, really do! Or you know someone who would be perfect for one of the positions, or you will volunteer them because they owe you big!

This is the (a) call for the CSTS 2010 Global Organising Team,
join us to support our brilliant world wide Local Organisers and give to Equality Now and our other causes.

Below are the position descriptions, I'd really like to continue the 'global' involvement. I love that we are Worldwide!

GLOBAL ORGANIZING TEAMS

Communications Team -

Communications Team Lead/Communications Coordinator will report directly to the Global Organizer and will be responsible for coordinating the communications and logistics team. The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for keeping up-to-date contact information on all local organizers and CSTS personnel. In conjunction with the Web Guru, the CC will keep the global calendar up to date. The CC will also be in charge of sending out emails to update organizers about meetings (regular and emergency,) policy and manual updates/changes, and field questions from the organizers by directing them to the proper parties. The CC will forward prepared emails to the appropriate persons.

Public Relations/Marketing Coordinator will report to the Communications Team Lead and will compose press releases and event updates for the CSTS website and necessary public outlets, including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Flikr, YouTube, newsletters, email bulletins, and broadwaves concerning CSTS both global and, where appropriate, local. PR will be responsible for the timing and communication of the Global design contest and coordination of the vote timing in conjunction with the CC. PR will format kits, banners, buttons, fliers, etc. to outlets with national/global reach.

Web Guru will update and/or create web pages as needed. S/he will maintain all pages of the CSTS website and forums. The WB is in charge of backing up all systems and maintenance of the integrity of the CSTS website. The WB will administer all public CSTS online presence, such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. The position will also be responsible, in conjunction with the Communications Coordinator, for updating the CSTS web calendar and would work with communications to ensure valid topics of discussion sent out by email are posted to the forums. The WB will also work with new event organizers and their mentors to assist them in creating and maintaining local CSTS event websites.

Registration Coordinator implements the event registration system, including registration form creation (online registration in conjunction with the Web Guru,) event confirmation, tracking and maintaining event and contact information in conjunction with the Communication Team Lead. The Registration Coordinator will suggest event combing where appropriate. S/he will refer access to the organizers forum for new organizers of local events to the Web Guru and will refer mentoring opportunities to the Mentorship Coordinator.

Mentorship Coordinator will match new organizers with experienced local organizers interested in mentorship. Mentorship will be responsible, in conjunction with Registration, for identifying possible mentors. In addition, the MC will work with registration to assist local groups in combining events, where appropriate.

Financial Team –

Financial Team Lead will be in charge of a centralized bank account and accounting system for funds received by Global CSTS for registration, T-shirts, swag shipping and other promotional orders. All billing and accounts payable/receivable will be centralized to the Financial Team Lead’s responsibility. The FTL will also monitor, track and report all donations to Equality Now and other charitable organizations. Final payment of any monies due to Equality Now from overages from various sponsorships, etc. (not including local organizations’ overages,) safeguards and audits of funds are the responsibility of the Financial Team Lead.

Assistant Financial Coordinator will have responsibility for monitoring income and expenses of global administration and merchandise. The AFC will bring to the Finance Team Lead any questions received relating to local events that may present themselves.

Merchandise Coordinator will research online merchandise production (e.g. Zazzle for USA and abroad,) and compare costs with U.S. outlets. S/he will survey local organizers for feedback before determining which items to sell (i.e. T-shirts, buttons, patches, posters, etc.) The MC will consider finding international reps to coordinate merchandise for outside the US. The MC will coordinate with Sponsorship final layout of sponsors on promotional items. S/he will obtain bids and establish firm timetables for creation and shipping of all items in a timely manner. The Merchandise Coordinator will work in conjunction with the Communications Coordinator to keep dates set for voting on the 2010 Global Design as well as firm deadlines for local organizers to place orders for merchandise.

Sponsorship Coordinator will locate, arrange and coordinate with global sponsors in all areas of sponsorship from providing items to event organizers (swag) to covering costs for T-shirts, posters, and website/hosting, as well as soliciting prize donations. The SC will solicit leads from organizers and interested parties and pursue them into new areas of sponsorship. He or she would be instrumental in developing new tools for local event organizers to use in pursuing local sponsorship and grants, such as sample letters. The SC will also arrange with sponsors that are providing in-kind donations and financial resources firm dates for receiving said items and issue receipts.

Kazia has graciously agreed to stay on as Web Guru, but I'd love to offer her an able asst. Each position could really use a back up too in case of emergencies

So ponder what you or your loved ones can do, comb thru your ranks for a 'volunteer' and then
PM or email me christine@cantstoptheserenity.com your interest in which position, a paragraph on why, how you'd be brilliant in it.
Let's get CSTS2010 flying

i'm not sure we should be volunteering people for them. it is a big job. we could perhaps point out the opportunity to people, but no one but themselves should volunteer people to you

Alrighty good Browncoats everywhere!
it would give us a great hand if you could link or repost this to Browncoat, sci fi, genre boards/lists everywhere, far & wide (in the appropriate sections of course).

Please do point out the opportunity to folk/friends/fans
you can post back here where you posted/listed so we don't duplicate too much and we can get 2010 rolling out

Happy NEW Year!

This has been posted to the Eugene Browncoats Yahoo! Group and the Signal Podcast forum.

Sent a message to the Seattle Browncoats asking them to spread the word. I don't think they have a forum so hopefully there's an email list that will get the word out.

I posted this on the AZ Browncoats Yahoo! Group. I'll continue looking for other places to put this. Might even consider just making a video for YouTube. You never know who we'll get to help!
