There will be games, with some incredible prizes followed by Serenity.

Pittsburgh had a fine shindig indeed!
Folks really seemed to enjoy the pre-show games they played to earn raffle tickets for great prizes! Creative people on Etsy REALLY came through for me with donated goodies!

I made a whole bunch of game cards in denominations of $50, $20, $10, and $5. They were labeled Blue Sun credit cards. Each entitled the player to a certain number of games. The games earn the player raffle tickets.

Games this year included: Jayne's Shootin Range (nerf game where people get points for shooting at FOX logo and Verse villains, but point deductions for accidentally hitting Book, Wash, or Mr. Universe. Independents Battle Zone (another nef game in which players shoot at army men painted purple, with penalties for hitting any brown army men. In addition, "new recruits" got either a ration (granola bar or Ramen pack) or a recruitment pack, which was a ziplock baggie with an Independents tattoo, sticker, a bandaid, rubber band, smarties candy, avengers candy sticks, and other little goodies)

We had a cornhole game called "Feed the Reaver". A guy on our crew drew a very lovely Reaver face on it. It was very popular!

There was Let's Make a Deal...with Badger. A friend of mine who costumes as Badger played a game of cards with people. If they lost, they got 1 raffle ticket for the attempt. If they won, they got 2. they could them gamble their winnings for what was behind "doors" (cards labeled with things like: 3 raffle tickets, no job, no deal; take your bet and go, total sucker (lose your bet, but take a dum dum sucker), negotiate with Badger for what you deserve, etc.

We also had origami make and take, a duck pond, trivia wheel, wash's dinomite coloring contest, River's Psychic Memory game, Operation game, and a new Terrifying Space Monkeys game (game of Tumbling Monkeys. Put the monkeys in, remove sticks and try to not have the monkeys fall. If they fall, the go into that players engine room (a printout of the screencap image of Serenity's engine room when Kaylee was working on it). It was very fun!

I also made ice planets again (extra large marshmellows covered in white chocolate and tied to a chopstick)

Much fun was had! Mighty fine shindig!

That sounds like great fun! I may 'steal' some of those ideas for next year.
