Well, here we are. Less than 4 weeks to go, global swag has arrived, waiting on the shirts. 182 yesses, 140 maybes on the Facebook event, posters and flyers everywhere a geek might see them. Big plus this year, a local Klingon group, the IKV Devastator is coming en masse in costume! Some guys dressed as Sith have said they're coming, we've reached out to all the local fandoms The event is on all the local online entertainment calendars. Starting to lose a little sleep about it all, same as last year.

8 days to go. We've got 4 hours if exquisite Geekery and every minute is scheduled. Here's what I wished we had time for, but can't.
Evil Laugh Contest
Costume Contest
Raffles of donated items from the community
Our venue is crazy expensive ($275/hr) but perfect for the event. Our vendors can only sell stuff during seating and intermission. If we cut into those we lose the opportunity for sales. If we cut into Mikey's set we could do a raffle but Mikey is far more entertaining. Our bunch loves Dr H and of course we must show the BDM. What's a Browncoat to do?

Well you could run a costume contest during the movie - just have people parade in front of the screen and run an evil laugh contest during Dr. Horrible.
or then again, maybe not.

Here's how it went: 295 paid tickets, 22 came in on free passes. Mikey Mason absolutely wowed them. Highly recommend him for an event. As for money it looks like it will about a thousand for Equality Now and 350 or so for the women's shelter. We're waiting for the vendor's numbers, because he took a lot of credit cards and because we had to vacate the venue quickly for the next movie we won't know until Monday. It appears we sold 25 of 30 shirts and all 20 of the patches. We had high expenses and only charged $10, we'll send complete accounting to Events and Shepherd. Time to rest now.

Congratulations. I'm glad there was no flooding and it looks as though people really enjoyed themselves.
And Davcato may be too modest to put this up himself but here is a lovely to him by Mikey Mason who played at the Norfolk screening.
