We had a very shiny Can't Stop the Serenity screening event!
There was a buzz starting on Twitter in the week leading up to it which seemed to mirror online ticket sales, the handful available to buy on the day were quickly snapped up so we had a SOLD OUT event!
People perused the raffle and merch tables before heading inside to claim their seats.
Seeing 'When I Speak' from Equality Now's 20th Anniversary Celebration on the big screen was very moving.
Ben McKenzie did a fantastic job as MC and there was much singing along to Dr Horrible!
Melbourne decided to have a go at Phildelphia's record of people on stage singing Hero of Canton and beat it with 75 participants. You can see video evidence of it here
The auctions went quite well on the day as did our first go at putting some on ebay as part of the event.
Our special interview with Sean Maher, who was charming and funny (you can now watch it online ), was the perfect lead in to the Big Damn Movie!
We're still triple checking the numbers but it looks like we raised over $5500 for Equality Now.

Actually, Melbourne's total is over $7500 Aussie dollars... not a bad effort from the New Melbourne Browncoats team.
Cheers
