We're proud to announce the winning design in the Can't Stop the Serenity 2009 Art Contest!

The caliber of artwork this year was amazing, and we know that it was very hard for people to choose their favourite. But after much difficult deliberation, the people have voted.

And the winning design is #3, by Don McMillan from Ottawa, ON Canada.

Yay! An Ottawa-ian! That makes me very happy. I'm glad it had the mix of the logo and '2009'. My design had that too, which wasn't put up to vote cause it got lost in the kerfuffle, so I'm glad it is on it...though, as a graphics person, I would align the 2 and the 9 so that the bottom of the 2 is in line with the bottom of the coin and the 9 so that the circle of the 9 is the same as the circles and the top is inline...but that's just me.

Wicked job though! Hope to see Don at the screening!

I just want everyone to know how grateful I am for all of the artists. We have something special planned showcasing all of their art that we are working on. To have so many people come and vote was amazing as well. To have this caliber of art to choose from, blows me away. To me, even though there is suppose to be only one winner, they are all winners.

And yes, Don is an amazing guy and I can't wait until I have my very own shiny shirt and other things to walk around in. WHOOT!

CSTS 2009 Global Organizer

I dont know if this is at all feasible, but it's something i always wondered if it could be done. we have a lot of cities that dont have screenings around thee world with browncoats in them. i guess it was an easier idea when the time line was much shorter for screenings. but i'd love to see a cafe press type of thing set up post september, where people could buy merchandise and moneys go direct to the CSTS total and to EN.

plenty of people have left over shirts from previous years too that would probably be put in. I'm not sure about the logistics of it all, and obviously it means work for someone or someones with mailing it out, the trust issue etc. but id love it if it could be setup that if someone in a city near you had a leftover tshirt you could buy it from there.

how do other people feel about this?

We are working on something like that, believe it or not!

First we'd like to encourage people to attend the closest screening. If that won't work, then order the shirt from a Browncoat group online who is willing to ship (so long as the person pays for the shipping) to those who cannot attend. After all those options are retired, then we are working on having something set up so people can buy anytime. It's a matter of who, how, where and when and we're working on it.

Our biggest concern is that the local organizers/screenings are able to receive as many sales as they can before we "open the store" so to speak. That's our priority.

We also have a couple other shiny secrets which would benefit from this. Cafe Press is cool but it does get a bit expensive. But we shall see what we can do. And yes, we'd love to hear all of your thoughts on this.
